Rev. Lovie May IV

Apostle Lovie May IV was born on June 5, 1984, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, to Wendy McCord and Lovie May III. Raised in New York, he later relocated with his mother to Miami, Florida, where they lived for several years before moving to Birmingham, Alabama. He now resides in Conyers, Georgia.

From a very young age, Apostle May was rooted in the Holiness Church and gave his life to Jesus Christ at the age of four. Even as a child, it was evident that God had placed a special calling on his life. He traveled from church to church teaching Sunday School, singing with youth choirs, and “playing church” on porches in Miami and Birmingham—early signs of his passion for ministry and leadership.

At the age of fourteen, Apostle May accepted the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was ordained and licensed as a minister. Over the years, he has faithfully served in numerous leadership roles, including Youth Pastor, Youth President, Praise & Worship Leader, and Pastor of two successful churches.

In 2003, he became Pastor Lovie May of The Faith Tabernacle Church of Deliverance. In 2005, he was elevated to Overseer and served as Pastor of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Throughout his ministry journey, he served under and alongside notable leaders such as Apostle C.L. Pointer, Bishop J.O. Nealson, Apostle Joseph Barnfield, Apostle Raymond Whitsey, and others.

In 2008, Overseer May was elected to the Office of Bishop and served as 3rd Assistant Presiding Bishop until the passing of his leader in 2010. In 2009, he founded the Full Gospel Tabernacle Fellowship alongside Elder Folami, serving as Presiding Bishop.

Apostle May recounts a powerful visitation from Jesus Christ in 2002 that confirmed his apostolic calling. He publicly accepted this mantle in 2010 and was later affirmed as Apostle Lovie May IV in 2018 by BTBIPFI under Chief Apostle Marcus Coney, where he also served as 2nd Assistant Presiding.

He later served as International Presiding Prelate of Faith Walk Kingdom Fellowship of Churches International alongside his brother, Assistant International Presiding Bishop T.M. Dillahunt. Additionally, he served as Co-Pastor of Faith Walk Fellowship Church in Birmingham, Alabama, where Bishop T.M. Dillahunt is Senior Pastor.

Today, Apostle Lovie May IV serves on the ministerial staff at Hope Redemption Worship Center.

Apostle May received his education in the Miami and Birmingham school systems and completed theological training at the C.L. Pointer School of Ministry. He also holds an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from BTBIPFI.

In 2012, Apostle May married the love of his life, Elder Lakeesha M. May, and together they are the proud parents of A.J., Lovie May V, and Zionah Nykole.

A humble servant of God, Apostle May lives by the principle: “If you stay humble, God will elevate you.” He continues to travel preaching, teaching, and healing through the power of Jesus Christ, demonstrating that through Kingdom alignment and faith, lives are transformed.
